Valeo "Clone" Alternator
After two attempts to rebuild my Marchal SEV alternator, I told my electrical rebuilder to get me a Valeo alternator. When I picked it up it wasn't a Valeo but looked well made and was inexpensive.
Bolted right on and produces 14.3V @ 2500 RPM. I'm assuming these are Chinese made. Good? Bad? Should I carry my boost pack?

I have ten years or so +/- on my Advance Auto "ToughOne" alternator. Maybe a buck sixty back then.
Replaced a Valeo.

my rebuilder says Valeo bought up all the competition brand names & makes ALL the alternators "somewhere"
- these days almost everything is made in China to somebody's specs - if valeo owns the all the original build specs, they can have 'em made under any brand name they wish to any price point
