Speed Metal,

Sorry for jumping to conclusions but quite a few troubleshooting discussions around here start with “what’s this for?” Lots of people have inherited franken systems where the wrong parts have been substituted. Seemed like where this was headed. Carry on...

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

Hey no sweat! Its true the majority of whats this do? threads are a precursor to a troubleshooting one.
My entire cis system has been borrowed from an earlier car, or I should say the engine itself is half 77 half 73.5.

Hi Speed Metal,

this might be what you are after, found these adjustment instructions and the electrical details show it at F25 (icon is for manually operated switch). Operated by hand throttle it completes circuit to cold start valve

but if you don't have a hand throttle, i guess you can apply some throttle pedal pressure when starting which seems what you are doing.

cheers
Shane
