Kw v3 adjustable dampers for G-model

Have anyone installed the adjustable kw v3 dampers
on the G-model? It is the version for use with the torsion bars I am looking at. I am interested to know what you experience.

I have them on my 89 3.2 and they're fantastic. They replace some Bilstein HD's and ride was much improved. They're set on a medium setting and I haven't adjusted them off that as I just use it for street driving and canyon runs, which this setting is perfect for.

Car is lowered to Euro height and I get very minimal rubbing with them.

Fantastic upgrade in my opinion.

A few questions for Billy Deakins.

There seems to be two KW damper sets available, one standard (part number 35271061) and one which has the raised spindle option (part number 35271064).

For your ride height, did you choose the standard or raised spindle option?

And are you running standard torsion bars?

Car looks great BTW !

Billy, where did you get the watanabes and do you mind sharing wheel/tire specs?

Those wheels are made by Rotiform.

I’ve had the KW v3s on my car for a while now. You can read about install and specs in my build thread. They are great. I drive HARD and they work well with the rest of my suspension set up.

Don’t hesitate. Buy them if you like to go around corners fast.

1987 3.2 Carrera To Do list

I'll get a set of these one day.... I actually think they are a good value, considering the amount of engineering that went into them. Reviews have been universally positive.

Thanks!!

I believe they're just the standard spindles but I can confirm with KW if you'd like.

Torsion bars are upgraded - I'll have to look back and see what they are as they were already upgraded when I bought the car.

As Ryan mentioned - they're Rotiform MLW's. I tried to get Wats but they only have one offset available for each size in the R Types, which work if you have a wide body, but not on a narrow body car.

Fronts are 8 ET 28 with with 224/45's
Rears are 9.5 ET 19 with 255/40's

V3’s with Eibach sways

Keep in mind that the ‘74 had 3” caliper spacing. The V3’s have the 3.5 spacing. Which worked out well for me as I upgraded to the larger ‘84 Carrera calipers. IMO if you want to enjoy your car on real world roads and still want to set up for AX or DE’s than these are the way to go. The Eibach’s are worthwhile compliment to these. The sways have fully adjustable drop links as well as mounting holes. The fronts are unique in that you do not have to drill holes through your body and use stock mounting points.

Have you guys with them experimented with the adjustments at all? If so, have you found the changes to be significant?

I have KW V2's on my old Audi wagon and they perform really well, but it's a daily driver and I haven't really played with the settings since the initial set up.
