Question No build sheet - how use VIN to access records?

At a local PCA event today - person said there might be a way to use the VIN to access the build records at Porsche to determine what options came with the car beyond the sticker. My car came with no paperwork and the manuals have very limited documentation. Assume that is through something only a dealer can access - but don't know that our local dealer will do that.

Any ideas on how to do something like this?

What you need is the Classic Technical Certificate(CTC). This requires a visit to a Porsche dealership that is authorized.

Perhaps Porsche Cars North America in Atlanta would provide info over the phone given a VIN. I forgot who I spoke with there, possibly their classic cars department---not sure. Whatever department it was, they were very helpful.

Thanks. Looks like for $75 or so - you can fill out a form and just mail it in - 4-6 weeks later they give you all the official scoop on build sheet, etc. It’s not a certification - but i am only looking for my factory info.

Interesting approach though - maybe finding someone at the dealership that would do it for me without charging? But feel like they would get those requests all the time...

The cheaper choice will verify original colors and options, but not engine or transmission numbers.

That’s all I am interested in getting. All my hard parts have the stickers or stamps with VIN - i just don’t really have any idea what colors came in the interior, etc.
