Oil change next week, injector cleaner?

I am taking my 1988 3.2 in next week for some work and an oil change. Is this the time to use injector cleaner or some other stuff in the gas? I am up in Canada so we don't have Techron. Seafoam, Marvel Mystery oil, etc.

Yes, an injector cleaner along with a spirited drive for a good long time is ideal before an oil change. You should be able to get those products via Amazon or similar. Surprised to hear that these items are not available in Canada, but maybe something about a banned substance?

You can get Techron or BG44K on Amazon if you want to use an injector cleaner.

Just run it 90 -100 miles south and get some at the local flaps. Be ready to change when you get back.
Not like there is any border traffic on Canada Day...!!!

I always run a bottle of it with the tank @ a fairly low level, always thought that would make it work better.

Gumout Regaine has the same active ingredient as Techron, in a greater concentration.

Definitely try BG44k, best source is Amazon or Ebay. It's not cheap,
but boy does it work. BG44k is NOT sold through auto parts stores,
only to automotive professionals. Just ask any car dealers service dept
about it, you'll find most use it. I've tried most all the other fuel
system cleaners, Techron etc. and not one other product can even come close to it. Cleans carbon and injectors and the complete fuel system.
I use one can with a half a tank of gas every 6-12 months
and car runs like a top.
Read over a few of all these 5 star reviews on Amazon and you'll get the idea how good this stuff works!

Sorry, I should have been clearer. We have just about everything except Techron and BG44K. Techron to Canada is around $30 and BG44K is around $53 from Amazon! Looking for alternates. Oil is about a year old, I get it changed it because might as well when the car is on the lift.

YIKES!!! $53 for BG44K in CA, what a ripoff. Why so expensive (other than exchange rate)?
How about Ebay prices?

To save $$$, I say the oil's probably still good after a year, assuming it's not a DD with many miles on it.

Where you are at, I suppose a yearly change is best done before winter storage.

You got me thinking here. Car is running fine and I use flaps fuel injector cleaner once a summer, just because. I don't DD and I just noticed that I only put around 550 miles on the car last year. Was a bad year... Winnipeg, Manitoba, known for our winters.
Before I put the car away for the winter I always drive it on the highway for about an hour or two to make sure that all of the oil is at temp. You right about changing before winter but it always seems to sneak in and I run out of time and boom, winter. Probably don't need an oil change.

This has the highest P.E.A content from Gumout, at least according the the rabbit hole BITOG.

Certainly cheap and easy to get in Canada

https://www.bgprod.com/find-a-shop/

I live in Vancouver, BC and used the "Find A Shop" on the BG website to find retailers local in Vancouver.

The BG44 Fuel cleaner is absolute magic. I have used the 1st can in my 81SC modified to EFI and the car is running great.

Take a look - I paid about CAD30.00 for my can.

Oh sure is PROBABLY good enough for an early 911?? Oil is the cheapest maintenance you can do.

I change every 3000 on my 1973.

In the old days, it's 3000 miles or every 3 months whichever comes first.

I threw a bottle of Gumout All-in-One Fuel System Cleaner in the tank. Will see about the color of the oil and make a decision then and report back. Thanks for all the help!
