New source of fresh air
A few weeks ago, my son and I participated in a rally. We went into the frunk for something during a stop and after the stop he closed the frunk. When we took off again, I noticed a huge amount of fresh air coming through the larger AC vents above the radio that I had NEVER experienced before. The faster we went, the more airflow and visa versa. We stopped to check it out and found he had not fully closed the frunk lid; only the safety latch was holding it. My question to forum members is have you ever experienced this before? Should I always be getting this huge amount of fresh air? Obviously, I'm not going to drive he car with the frunk partially open, but that airflow was great! BTW, it's a '83sc. Thanks in advance for your input.

yes, huge difference in fresh air when frunk is only being held down by safety latch -- early warning to fully close hood and avoid potential disaster.

Yes. The front end, esp the center, is a high pressure area. If you can figure out an elegant air inlet path and s way to filter and control air volume into the cabin, you’ll be a popular fellow.
There was a strategy of replacing the clock with a combo vent outlet and flow valve from a Ford vehicle (truck?). However, using ambient air also means ambient air particles (dust, grit, bugs, pollen, random types of moisture, etc.) into the cabin air path. I’m sure it’s in the PP archives. Sherwood |
