New source of fresh air

A few weeks ago, my son and I participated in a rally. We went into the frunk for something during a stop and after the stop he closed the frunk. When we took off again, I noticed a huge amount of fresh air coming through the larger AC vents above the radio that I had NEVER experienced before. The faster we went, the more airflow and visa versa. We stopped to check it out and found he had not fully closed the frunk lid; only the safety latch was holding it. My question to forum members is have you ever experienced this before? Should I always be getting this huge amount of fresh air? Obviously, I'm not going to drive he car with the frunk partially open, but that airflow was great! BTW, it's a '83sc. Thanks in advance for your input.

yes, huge difference in fresh air when frunk is only being held down by safety latch -- early warning to fully close hood and avoid potential disaster.

Yes. The front end, esp the center, is a high pressure area. If you can figure out an elegant air inlet path and s way to filter and control air volume into the cabin, you’ll be a popular fellow.

There was a strategy of replacing the clock with a combo vent outlet and flow valve from a Ford vehicle (truck?).

However, using ambient air also means ambient air particles (dust, grit, bugs, pollen, random types of moisture, etc.) into the cabin air path.
