CIS Hose. Where Does This Go?? I'm Stuck!

Looking at the engine from the flywheel side -- underneath the air intake book, there is a plastic nipple, molded into and protruding from the plastic air-box by about 20mm. Where does the hose that attaches to this nipple go?

I thought it was a vacuum line, but I can't remember where it runs to. With the hundreds of photos I took of my engine drop and disassembly, you'd think I'd have a picture! But it's about the only thing I can't find!

I've finished everything in the car and I'm ready to start the engine installation -- but I can't figure out what that nipple connects to. Your help would really save the day!

that is an oil drain( engine breathing from the oil tank) and in your model it does not have the hose and the drain pipe..so nothing goes there

Ivan

it was connected to this piece by hose. This pipe was either made out of black plastic or metal as seen on this pic.

Not used as your oil tank doesn’t breath into the air box down low.

Drain.

Lots of oil crud gets sucked in there.

Thank you very much guys!

That explains why I can't find an old hose for that spot with a label on it! I put a label on each end of every hose I took off, to make sure I got them all back. When I saw this oil spout under the air-box, I started tearing my hair out trying to find the old hose!

I seriously appreciate you all taking this load off my mind!

Duane, that was a nice write-up, very interesting!

That's a mighty clean air box. Plastic bungs like that don't always go through. Sometimes they are blocked and useless.
