fuchs paint need help
I'm looking at a black 79 930 turbo and the wheels are more the color of the black body vs the usual flatter black. Were color keyed wheels avail. in 79 and did they put a gloss black wheel on black car only because it matches black better than flat. Thanks Gene

No. The wheels were probably repainted. How is the match and the quality of the paint? Also, if the paddles are polished that is a dead giveaway.
BTW that sounds like a nice car. Love to see a pic! John

As I understand it, the original paint on the fuchs was Wurth's Matt Lacquer, which actually is not truly flat, but has some shine to it. Its just that after 24 years, it has oxidized to a flatter color. You can try to restore some of the sheen with a combination of 3M Hand Glaze and then a coat of wax. If that doesn't work then a repaint may be necessary. the guys at carcareonline were very helpful on this.
