1983 SC...finally done with the transformation

I've had this SC for 8 years now and it has been a peach mechanically...all of the wear out items in the suspension have been replaced....I put a rebuilt 930-10 Euro w/SSI's in it a few years ago. Lightened it to about 2300 lbs fully wet/20 gl gas.
It would be hard to list the mods....and I finally got it painted.
I, and a good buddy, put the Rothsport bumpers on prior to giving it to the body/paint guy...I'd done the duck a few years ago. The sunroof is deleted with a steel panel.
The body color is the original Sahara Diamond Mettalic….the stripes are a close shade of gold that 'hide' depending upon the angle....anyways...friend took pics at his place before I'd even driven home.

Nice.....but you'll have to remove the "8" from your licence plate. Don't want to send this thread to PARF do you?

It is a stock color but not in '83...the original buyer had it done in this Porsche color

436-9-3 is the factory code.

Looks fantastic...I think we've PM'd a few times, we have similar taste in aesthetics and mechanicals. Aside from removing the sunroof and FG bumpers, what were some other weigh saving measures you took to get it to the 2300 lb range?

Wow, let's see....all AC and everything associated gone, the huge water tank gone, mirrors, carpeting replaced with perlon, back seats/deck, RS door panels with nylon pulls, heavy bumper shocks, right/left rear arm rests that hide the steat belt mech. All of the pollution gear replaced by SSI's (legal in Az...collector car)...all interior sound insulation (love the whine...the one piece by the rear deck is like 40 lbs)… I kept the radio but only two door speakers. Side valences, rear steel deck replaced by FG duck, light cloth hand adjusted Recaro's, tons of bolts that went with all of that and I suspect I am forgetting something.

The 930-10 is about 225 HP as set up so it moves nicely...this was done locally and I know the shop owner...all of the little side valance holes are closed up etc. and he welded in the steel panel too....did a great job.

The next project is doing away with the CIS and going FI throttle bodies...that's where we chatted msmall

Looks good. Pasha I can like...

What are you planning for plate lights? I’d get pulled over here...
Interesting looking skate wheels up front?

I weighed that piece in back at 37lbs on my 74. Must be made from asphalt!

Wow... Sweet! Great job Liber

The stripes remind me of this car. (From the movie Wheelman)

I have plate lights...they are the bottom LED bolts holding the plate on...they work perfectly....12 bucks anywhere.
The alloy skids up front are sold here on Pelican...they mimic the steel ones on your torsion bar front cover...they are 'expendable'...you couldn't see them with the stock valance but can now so will paint them flat black....they work and saved my old front rubber lip numerous times getting into public drives.

Really pleased with it.....initially I bought a carbon fiber insert (sold by a gent here) but that did not work out....in our AZ heat ….after the final body work prior to paint they put it outside in the sun for a bit to move cars around....the panel warped...either the SEM product he told me to use or the medium in the CP shrunk.
So, we pulled it all off and welded in a steel panel....anyways...it came out just right and I do like the no sunroof look...and not messing around with that stupid felt strip.

That's my color too! Fairly unusual, and it turns heads too. Mine was originally bought by a female doctor in CA. Do you know anything about your original owner?

Oso...very nice....I have the Dr.s info somewhere with the stuff I got when purchased, it only had two owners and the last one only a few months, I don't think he knew Porsche's well and never drove in the real rpm range ...the Dr. (male) owned it for the majority and I talked to the Mechanic that had taken care of it for him for almost two decades.
I always really liked the original color...the original paint held up well but it had 270k miles of stone chips up front....and, I wanted to modify obviously.
Not an overly common color.
