Getting better at finishing these flares! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Now, I have no way of knowing if you’ve been following this build at rennch.com/YouTube for the 56 videos I’ve posted about this car, but you should know that this **** is getting real. Really real. #blasphemybuild #diy #rennch #ourwhyisDIY #TT #400+HP

If all the metal is in good condition, I would give it a good brush finish and clear coat it. That would look really cool. Good job by the way.

Not in the plans for this one, but I like that look for a future project. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Great car, very entertaining YouTube channel, and some inspiring photos above! I enjoy watching your videos and have to remind myself sometimes with what you started out with- 993-bodied race car. This will be one trick pony when she gets on the road. I encourage everyone to watch the battle waged on the fitment of the transmission, starter, and adapter plate! Crazy...

Thanks man. Despite the immense amount of fabrication to get this 911 chassis back to “stockish “, this pelican crew is not incredibly interested in this build because of the power plant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I find your Subie alternative MUCH more in line our small coupes’ design intent than the V8 offerings from Gen Motors. And I’m guessing it could be a reasonably priced option as our Stuttgart engines get more and more scarce in the future... Carry on, you have an awesome project.

I have to admit that I too was rooting for a air cooled power plant for your 69 However, I think as air cooled parts continue to rise in cost, water cooled motors for projects like yours will be more accepted. Especially Subaru. I have a 77 911 backdate project that I’m hoping to get started on next year. It’ll be powered with a 78 3.3 turbo. I bought the roller, motor and all the needed parts several years ago. There’s no way I could even contemplate this project with today’s prices. I’m hoping that you’ll keep posting your progress here. It’s an interesting project and it’s been fun following along. |
I think this is a cool build, given where this car started it's a miracle it is even close to something that looks like the original car. I just don't have a lot of time to watch the videos - I'm usually multi-tasking reading this forum while sitting on work zoom calls. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/heks.gif
Always interesting to see how creative you guys can be dealing with the injustices that were done to these cars over the years. This build and engine swap is definitely creative and is great to see the process. Bill |
As the ad once said..."You've come a long way, baby".

I'm running a few weeks behind on your videos, will catch up soon. I can see your excitement now that it looks like a car once again. Meanwhile my own project languishes.

I love the build. I admit that I am not a video watcher. I hardly ever watch TV. But I like to read details in posts.
Keep on... |

I clamped the rear bumper on just so I can see how it looked. It’s pretty close overall! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Keep up the great work! BIG fan of your YT channel.

Built
I folow you on Youtub and here on Pelican, like to watch the improuvments over the weeks.
Keep on the good work. Cyril from France. |
PM box is full...trying to send you one.

The metal work is highly impressive but have you worked out how you are going to bleed the cooling system?
That center inlet, center exit radiator, not to mention the flex hose running to it is going to make bleeding almost impossible. I totally understand the cost reasons not to use a Porsche engine (though 996TT engines are pretty reasonable) but keeping that Subi fed with cool water and good oil pressure is going to be paramount to keeping it alive. |
