Video 3 is up on the YouTube Channel!
I've just uploaded video 3 of my Twin Turbo Vintage Porsche "Blasphemy Build". (If you're subscribed, you know that by now. If you're not, Would love a sub and a thumbs up if you like it!
In this episode, I deconstruct the really cool racing oil cooler system (soon to be replaced by radiators), finish up shaving the brackets from the GT2 RSR bodykit, show you a cool garage hack I'm doing, demonstrate my spreadsheet to keep track of this whole build, and reveal the CONCEPT DRAWINGS of the finished product. (And they are incredible!!) Still waiting on panels: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462216.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462216.jpg Shaving RSR Bodykit Brackets: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462216.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462216.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462216.jpg Deconstructing (really cool) Oil cooler ducting http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462216.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462216.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462216.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462216.jpg And my little garage hack. I wanted to get the tools I use most in a really quick, accessible place. I've since built it out with 6 more Harbor Freight Magnets http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462216.jpg But wait...there's more: |
I reached out on Instagram....
...to see if someone could help me concept my ideas for this build. This guy reached out and was like "Yea, I can sketch something for you....".
This is a SAMPLING of the 4 renderings he sent me. They are effing UNBELIEVABLE. Check out the video for the other 3: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569462463.jpg Now...the color is not the color. But there's some cool stuff lurking in the photos... http://rennch.com/youtube if you want to check out the channel! |
It’s Christmas!!
A knock on my door, and my body panels from Restoration Design have shown up! I was expecting just the front fenders to be in, but it looks like the rear quarters are there as well. I will be doing an unboxing video on YouTube as I process them and fit them to the car. Finally though, I can make some major progress on the car. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6e9e0f6462.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...103de12c5f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...daa1b03394.jpg If you want to follow all of my videos on YouTube about the build, which is primarily where I will be updating this project, it is at http://rennch.com/YouTube Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Michael
I too enjoy stepping outside the typical purist directions. My 72T isn't much outside except maybe the Cobra rear view mirrors but talking about engines check this out. 65 corvette with a 57 Chrysler 392 Hemi, Chrysler 4 spd, and Chrysler 8.75" solid rearend with 4 link and coilers. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1570552058.jpg |
your hemi powered corvette really comes up a lot in this forum, i guess we will never have to ask if that thing has a hemi

This is going to be an epic looking car if it comes out looking anything like your grey ride - stoked to follow this along.
Btw - is that a quarter pipe that you skate in your work space?! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/clap.gif |
Almost ready for paint! :D

Unboxing BRAND NEW Restoration Design Quarter Panels and Fenders!
Well, this was a thrill. Restoration Design decided to sponsor my blasphemy build, and after six long weeks of waiting, sent out quarter panels and fenders to bolt onto the car. (Or weld, as the case may be)
I filmed an entire video about the Unboxing process on my YouTube channel if you want to check it out: https://youtu.be/-uLQ4uZf0jA After 16 years of restoring these cars, I’ve actually never had brand new fenders or quarter panels to work with. What a delight to not have to clean them and cut rust out, LOL. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b369e9e7a3.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e319487b51.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cc65550a81.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...75449c088c.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c979621557.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...be2a3bb739.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d950e25141.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ea8f12e894.jpg |

My 2nd bumper patch. Pigeon poop welds, but we got there eventually. Once I bodywork it a little bit, and finish the lip, it should be pretty good.

Part 4 of my 1969 Porsche 911s Blasphemy Build is up on YouTube! I had to extensively modify this former race car to properly fit the brand new Restoration Design front fenders, and the original Porsche 911S bumper, which I also refurbished during the episode. Finally, I had to modify the rear deck lid area so I was able to properly fit the deck lid. It’s up on http://rennch.com/YouTube now! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
[BUILD THREAD] The 69 911s Blasphemy Build - LASTERN
Been a bit since I’ve updated. I’ve been traveling a ton, and it’s been raining here as well, so I haven’t had much of a chance to work on the car. However, today I made a decision and trimmed the replacement quarter panels for a rough fitment:
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...00cad81117.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a5f211a9a7.jpg It was a bit chaotic trimming off OEM Porsche, as well as replacement parts for fitment: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e5d434336a.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d1abaad870.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9d8c22ed82.jpg I am mostly pleased about how it’s turning out, however, it looks like my wheelbase has been lengthened a little bit: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f6e2569742.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a36cc22143.jpg Obviously, the suspension has been highly modified to become a GT two race car. Wondering if perhaps these are the wrong rear control arms and they are a bit longer than standard turbo arms. Can anyone comment to that? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e5b50a4e6b.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1917858086.jpg |
For clarity… I measured my current RSR a wheel base around 89”. This car is measuring 90”.

Does anyone have a diagram of the measurements of an early chassis?
