Engine tin interchange?
I should know this, and I think the answer is no, but do 2.2 and later engine tins interchange?
Is there a guide anywhere? Thanks!

I believe the tins from 1964 (2.0s, anyway) through 2.7 interchange. When I tried to use 2.7 tin on a 3.0 I had to do some modifying, as those tins are different in how the spring clips hold them. You could check parts manuals (available from Porsche on line) to see where there are different part numbers.
Bruce Anderson's book shows how to modify early tin for better cooling, but you don't need that for fit and to get the spring holders to work. |
