x-Faktory: Carrera backdate in the queue
I am wrapping up the 964 EFI project and will soon be installing the 2.7 RS mod engine in the 73 project........while these projects are winding down.....this one is spooling up.
86 Carrera to be backdated to 73 RS (no duck on this one); This project is for my new friend Raz and is aligned with his vision (with a little help from me) of what a proper 911 hotrod should be. Engine will be built from 3.2 to 3.5 w. 46mm PMO EFI, Mod-S cams, Headers, sport muffler. Rasant AEM/Infinity controller, all metal backdate (TRE) with the exception of the front/rear bumpers. Suspension/Braking upgrades using Rebel Racing, Tarret, Bilstein. GTS ST and S seats , Prototipo, Wevo.....too much to list. This Carrera is an excellent running donor and lots of parts will be available, as I dis-assemble it. I'll post parts & pricing in the "for sale" forum soon. stay tuned. al

I need a pair of black door panels without extra speaker holes, and maybe the pockets if I can't find mine.

Going Down.........
I have been collecting parts for the Carrera backdate project and now have several shelves full of shiny bits for Raz's 911 backdate project. But......I need to tear it down, before i can build it up....so to that end, I dropped the motor/tranny and started dis-assembling the motor. This will be built into a 3.5, with 46mm EFI ITBs, Mod-S cams, Nickies w/10.5:1 JE pistons, Headers, sport muffler, dual-plug, Rasant AEM/Infinity kit.
All new suspension and brake bits from Rebel, Tarett, and others......GTS seats, WEVO shifter, TRE backdate parts....and on and on it goes.....stay tuned, this will be stellar. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Break it down
The Carrera backdate project is progressing nicely. Complete disassembly of the engine. Very, very nice condition. Definitely in great shape. Great base for going from 3.2 to 3.5. Tomorrow the heads are getting shipped to Craig Garrett for rebuilding and the case will be shipped to Ollie's....to get it machined for the 3.5 Nickies cylinders, Crank will be magnafluxed, etc..........disassembly of the body parts...fenders, hood, interior, etc...starts tomorrow.....assembly of the new suspension bits to follow soon.
Stay tuned.... regards, al

Cars, smars. Always wondered about the origin of your company name and finally found it: “The X Factor is a television music competition franchise created by British producer Simon Cowell and his company...”. Al, is there something you are not telling us? Hmmmmmm? (You do kind of look like Kenny Rogers, but with wrinkles)

Rick,,those bastardos admired my company name so much they named their absolutely rubbish show after it....but Webster has a better definition for you.
X factor noun Definition of X factor : a circumstance, quality, or person that has a strong but unpredictable influence regards, al PS: Since i can't sing or dance....i'm hoping that the X-faktory is more aligned with the Webster definition...............

Or I suppose x-factory could mean that those who spend too much money on your products have ex-wives?
