Wiper fuse keeps blowing 996

I tried posting in the 996 section but there is almost no traffic there.

I have a 2004 996 C4S. So you don't boo me off of the stage, I have an air cooled 911 as well, but the 996 is my daily driver.

My wiper fuse blows when the switch goes from on to off and also when the stalk is pulled to the washer on position or pulled down to the intermittent setting.

If i just turn them on to position speed 1 or 2 they will happily swing back and forth until I turn them off, then poof.

Any help?

Don't know the answer, but you could also try the 996 Rennlist forum. it looks like it has a bit of traffic.

996 Forum might know as well:

That said, it sounds like a short of somekind, no? Then again, so many folks cure their electrical gremlins by replacing the ignition switch (as everything runs through it). Sounds like it could be an issue with the stalk (as I am sure you guessed first).
