So I bought myself a 930...

I ran across this thing quite by accident on Christmas Eve. I mulled it over and slept on it, weighed the options and thought about whether something like this even has a place in my life. After careful consideration, I decided to take the plunge.

The next morning, being Christmas, there was nothing I could really do about it, so I waited patiently. The next morning I braved Boxing Day traffic and avoided the blue hair that forgot what signal lights are and just about side swiped me.

In due time, and some vehicular misadventures later, I saw it in the flesh. She was gorgeous! And the price was right! What's a Porsche nut to do? So I bought the damn thing. Yeah, that's right. You only live once, right?

Here she is...

OH! Wait! That's not it; those are the wrong photos. Here she is, my first 930...

OK, yeah, she's made of plastic and by LEGO, not Porsche.

I guess they just released this kit at the end of summer, and I actually did run across it on Christmas Eve. I checked online and they had stock in the local store. I figured I could handle the Boxing Day crazies and get to the mall at opening. It actually wasn't that bad in there at 08:00 and I managed to escape well before nine with my new 930 and a Cinnabon.

Afterward I was having flash backs to when I was ten years old sitting on the living room floor assembling my new treasure. So it's a 930 AND a time machine. Another Christmas miracle!

You're right. Lots of teeny, tiny pieces and those complicated assembly drawings. I think they're worse than IKEA instructions. Had to have a neighbour kid supervise so I could get it built and take those photos. Not gonna let a child's toy kick my ass...

Not a Lego but quite a project for an old man......not like it was 60 years ago.... lots of tiny parts.
Did this a couple of years ago at Christmas.

Thanks, Brian, I'll keep that in mind. Though your lift would be unnecessary, just your expertise and experience.

Hey, Alex, good to see you're still hanging about. Hope all is going well with the new family member. I was out at Kicking Horse for opening weekend in November, but it slipped my mind to give you a call when I was there. Next time.

Yeah, it's two separate pieces and each has its own sticker with a non-black portion around the edge. A few seconds with a sharpie fixed that right up.
