a new dash is hard to install, any suggestions?
I am trying to install my new/used dash into my 1974 911 and am wondering if there is a better way?!?!
Is this jus a matter of man-handling it to get all the studs lined up etc. I've already broken a few of the plastic push clips...I'll use a few cleverly placed pieces of marine grade velcro to remedy this. I looked in my factory manuals and no luck there...I am concerned that if I torque on it too hard I'll cause a crack. any suggestions?? ![]()

jmz,
Slow down! This is a delicate process and doesn't require force. I am guessing you already have the windshield removed? Did you buy Wayne’s 101 Projects? Hopefully you have answered yes to both of these questions. If you properly fit the dash first, you only need to lightly tighten the studs. When you successfully line up with plastic clips, the studs should fall right in place. Sitting inside the car you will have to angle the dashes backside upward. Push the dash into place then push the backside, closest to the windshield, down into the plastic clip receivers. At this point the dash should be in place, now tighten the stud bolts.
