Good for you.

Just need the symptoms to complete the picture. Power loss, rough idle, no start ?

...the flamethrower was the culprit or the solution ?
... the flamethrower was 45 years old, lost, then found, or your original was 45 years old, and defective?

Car would stumble and die at an intersection and then restart and run fine, loss of power at higher revs sometimes. Finally got to where if I applied full throttle engine would just quit until i eased back . I was convinced it was the CIS but I was wrong. Had the timing light on it when it happened to act up, give it some throttle and the light would go out but the tach stayed steady.
Installed an old Bosch Blue and shes running good.
