How to get into neutral after bushing replacement
I just completed replacement of all the shifter bushings for my SC. It went pretty well. However, I now I realize my car was in gear when I started but now I don’t know how to get it back into neutral to start the adjustment. Any ideas?

At the back of the tunnel, fasten with the set screw, the universal coupler to the shift rod coming out of the trans nose and the pinch bolt end of the coupler fitted loosely onto the long shift rod in the tunnel. The coupler will give you something to grip or lever, to shift the trans into whatever position you would like. Any number of methods at this point, but I usually find first gear, and then position the shifter stalk where I would like first to be and then lock it down at the pinch bolt. Some fine adjustments may be needed after that. Remember, when you are rotating the lever in one direction, the shift rod is going the other. Bob
