What do you like the most about your 911?

For me..it's the brake feel. Never drove another car that had the 'foot
to pedal' feel of my SC.
Don't know how to describe it...but it's almost like your foot pressure is directly on the discs.
Love it.

The sound at 4K rpms and above is tied for first.

I find that the driving experience on a country road is without parallel. The steering, the handling, the torque, and the tight, compact power train are from another era. The sound of an air cooled flat six is pretty damn unique as well.
No other car compares, in my experience.

I like BOTH of my current 911s because of the same things:

Analog feel
Size and weight (everything has gotten so big and heavy)
Chuckability
It is NOT effortless to drive
You can drive nine tenths and not go to jail
Fairly simple and easy to work on

Most of these traits overlap a fair bit...

I like it because it reminds me of our 69 Beetle. Only faster and lower.

Yes..there are so many good similarities.
When non-owners comment about "It's just a glorified Beetle"...they don't realize what a compliment that is.

The whiplash, pull your arms out of the sockets acceleration; cruising at 80mph in 4th (+/- 3100 RPM), backshifting into 3rd, and flooring it (instant max boost) is motoring bliss!

I've owned and driven a lot of cars, mostly mid engined cars from Germany and Italy as I always assumed they are best. Even though I liked the looked of the 911 I always avoided it due to the ass-egined nature and all the horror stories associated with the rear weight bias. There was no way the 911 could compare with the mid engine marvels I thought.

I was wrong.

I love my 1971 911T Targa for:
- The light weight
- The compact exterior dimensions but roomy interior
- Amazing steering feel and brake feel
- Fun to drive on narrow twisty roads but also enjoyable on the highway.
- Ability to have fun below 100MPH.
- A car that you feel engaged with. You "feel" your way into raving, shifting, braking. There is a skill to mastering the driving of the car. It is not an appliance but an emotional machine.
- Even with the 2.2. the surge of torque in any gear feels good. Not fast by modern standards but feels fast enough when in motion.
- Comfort and relaxation while cruising. Why did I tolerate cramped mid-engine cars when this was available all along?
- Analog feel. Nothing artificial about the driving experience.
- Quality of OE materials.

That the car pushes like a dump truck unless you're brave enough to lift on corner entry.

Looks, sound, smell. When I see any air cooled 911 picture posted I can instantly smell the oil/gas combo that you get when you either look in or pop open the door to drive an older 911. Everything else just falls into place.

The steering is so direct with such great feedback. Never experienced remotely similar in another car.

All great things and I agree, love the smallness/tightness/speed.

The engineer in me loves the fact that there are NO computers on my '77 911 with CIS, just good engineering and valves and diaphragms and dissimilar metals and stuff. The car has an automatic choke that WORKS without a computer! A bunch of little weird parts just move and twist and open and close to make the car run perfectly every time I turn the key, hot or cold. That's awesome.

Its visceral quality, the way it talks to me, how direct it is, how small it is, the steering, the oil/fuel smell, and how much damn fun it is and the stupid smile it still puts on my face.

I like the way it's something half way between a go-cart and a car.

I’ll mention the smell again. Combination of oil, gas and old leather! They should make an aftershave like it!!!!

All of the above resonates with my feelings for the car, along with the fact that they’ve been telling us the engine is in the wrong place for over 50 years and it’s still there and still winning.

Hard to pick any one thing. Perhaps that it looks good from some distance, but shabby enough up close, so I can drive and use it without fear og bad things happening. Because driving the thing is really the best part.
