Ever heard of Stablbus?
I’m looking at an oil drain valve to make oil changes easier on my wife’s daily driver.
I like the design of the one made by Stahlbus between that Fumoto since the Stahlbus has a couple of fail-safe features. Has anyone heard of Stahlbus? It’s made in Germany so it’s got to be good, right? https://www.ecstuning.com/b-stahlbus--parts/stahlbus-oil-drain-valve-set-m14x15x12mm/sb-210211-s-na~s/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3dLr887x5QIVFIiGCh2MGAdhEAQYAiA BEgJLafD_BwE |

My coworker just bought one. It looks very well made. Should make oil changes easier.

IMHO - I love my Fumoto.. you should not have any issues..
![]() No problems since I installed 2 years ago and the safety catch on it is solid..

Quick... Stahlbus is a clean design... obviously moreso than a Fumoto. If there's a downside to Stahlbus, it's that it requires it's own drain plug to push the ball in. Then that "extra part" must be cared for / not lost. Fumoto down side... it was initially introduced with no security to prevent the valve from opening. Company has since introduced a plastic lock. That lock might work well. I prefer using a clamp on the valve to prevent the switch/tab from going anywhere. To remove/install a clamp takes seconds. Some consider Fumoto a "slow" drain. That's subjective. Surly it's possible to do other things during a drain. I thought about swapping my Fumoto out for a Stahlbus and decided against it---only because of the special drain plug needed.

For my once-a-year change, I'm totally ok with removing a bolt instead of introducing a possible failure point. I've seen too many of those doo-dads fail on AX cars and take motors with them.

+1 for Fumoto. I have one installed on my oil tank; it is two years old and works great. Very secure locking mechanism and never leaked a drop. Kept the drain plug on the engine block.

Also +1 on Fumoto. The locking mechanism won't accidentally unlock, it takes
deliberate pressure to move it. These units are used on million dollar earth moving machines and over the road trucks. I'm sure if they were marginal units they wouldn't be used in those applications.

I use the Fumoto on my 968 and my 911.
It's a high end product and well worth it. Even if you only change the oil once a year you will love this valve when you have too much oil in the tank and want to take a little bit out! ![]() |

Fumoto...I've used them on my SC and Carrera for over a dozen years now.
Very happy with them...no problems at all.

I use the Fumoto mostly to make oil changes a LOT less messy. I shove a rubber hose on the valve, open the drain and drain the oil directly into my 5 gallon container. Zero splash and mess. Then I remove the oil filter. I found Pelican sells this handy tray.
![]() It keeps the oil from the filter from making a mess down the side of the engine bay and covering the wires. This photo was right after I did a pulley seal replacement. One step is to move the AC compressor over and my compressor wire is on top of that tray and not next to it like it should be. That has been fixed. So say the Fumoto valve is slow. I don't have an issue whit that at all.
