Broken O2 sensor Connector

I discovered that my O2 Sensor connector is broken in half right where the sensor plugs into the connector in the engine bay. The connector is broken on the car side of the connector not the sensor side so I'm gonna need to replace that cable or splice in a connector????? I can't seem to locate the cable part but I'm still looking. Anybody with helpful input please feel free to add to this, I'm open to suggestions.

Kroon wire harness makes new connectors of this type. You’ll need to pry the old one out of the black connector though without damaging it or you’ll have to het a new O2 sensor.

Thanks for the info Frank, that's the exact part I'm looking for. Shipping on that is pretty high, so I'm hoping I can find the same thing in the USA. I remember years ago that someone on this Forum had some made here in the USA but I can't remember who it was.

Louie85 was making them - look at this thread below. He hasn't been on Pelican since March. I messaged him last year and I think he was going to run another batch at the beginning of the year, but I've not heard back from him.

Same here. He messaged me many months ago that he was going to run another batch, then I never heard from him. If anyone finds that he is making them again, let me know.

Thanks

The original plug is very outdated and you should also take into consideration just change the connection type to maybe a SuperSeal one. Much cheaper and much more easy to connect/disconnect.

O2 sensor

As an alternative (more cheaper) way of shipping we can also send it by Dutch Post in an enveloppe. No tracking and not ensured but only EUR15,- and generally arrives within about 10 days. You can contact us for further details at: info@kroonwireharnesses.com

Regards from the Netherlands, Gerard.

I had the same issue on my 83 911. I wasn't able to source a replacement plug, so went the route of using a weatherpack connector like the one pictured above. I think you need to buy a Packard style crimping tool (or at least I thought I did), but other than that, connection is pretty easy.

The sensor side of the connector is pretty easy as it's just one wire, but the car side of the connector is a shielded cable. From what I recall, it's very important to make sure you don't get any of the shielding wires crimped into the connector as it will cause false readings, etc. All in all, pretty easy though.

Final follow up on this thread.

I got a message from Louie and he's made up 2 connectors already, 1 for me and 1 spare. He said he's planning on making 10 more this weekend so if anyone needs one send Louie and email while they last.

My connector was broken like that and I used Louie85's replacement. Then a year or so later, when I expressed concern to John Walker about the fix I had done, he simply disconnected the sensor, adjusted the mixture (left the sensor disconnected) and it's run great ever since he did that in 2016. ('84 911.) Louie85's connector worked fine though.

quick follow up, I got the repair connector from Louie today and will install it tomorrow. Louie did a fantastic job on mfr this connector. There are cheaper connectors that others suggested that could be used but once this is connector is installed any new O2 sensor installed will never have to be altered as it will be a plug and play. Thanks Louie !
