I figured it was a hose connection :-)
but no idea what it served (purpose), obviously its not in use on my SC engine..i had guessed maybe it had to do with a temperature switch of some kind since it was open to the external top side of the engine? Nothing a breather would require...just run out of ideas what it could be HELP! |

You connect that nipple with a hose that fits and run it to the carbon canister nipple. It moves air through the canister.

There's positive air pressure inside the cowl that the cooling fan creates. That pressure purges the CC from gas fumes.

found this and now it makes sense
![]() Here is the key: 1. Expansion chamber 2. Vent chamber 3. Charcoal canister 4. Engine fan shroud (under air cleaner) 5. Hose from fan to charcoal canister 6. Purge line from charcoal canister to air cleaner so it would make sense to cap this off so hot air isnt blowing into the engine bay? |
