Loose nut under engine...?
Had a quick check under my -74 today and noticed a 13mm nut that was somewhat loose. It is on the left side of the crankcase. Nut sure what is the purpose of this one is, so I need help on this one.
Anyone ?

Also, I was expecting a selfie. I always say the biggest problem with my car is the loose nut behind the steering wheel!

It's a through bolt. It starts leaking then someone 20 years ago over tightened it and pulled it.
You can remove it and put a bolt in as a temporary fix until you split the case and address the pulled threads.

Had the same problem I removed mine tapped it and put a 10mm bolt in.....

Luckily it goes into a blind cavity so you can tap it for a bolt until the case needs to be split. It’s for the intermediate shaft webbing and not too critical.
