O. Flapper box location and service?
Hi, trying to sort out why I cannot stop the hot air flow into the cabin.
Guess it must be a flap that is not shutting inside the flapper boxes, when the control levers ( by the handbrake ) and shut down. Or that the connection from the red levers to the flapper boxes is broken/stuck. Can anyone let me know where the flapper boxes are, and if there is a fix I can try for this problem. Thanx ![]() |

The flappers are on either side of the car, right behind and above the rear strut. Jack up the car and look above the trailing arm, and you will see it. Make sure that when the lever between the seats is down, that the flapper valve OPENS. This vents hot air into the environment, and not into the heating system. There is a plate inside the valve that also moves, and should seal off airflow to the cabin.Good luck. ine is so rusted, I have to climb under there every spring to close it by hand.
