defrost light assembly switch not working. '85 911
I tested the switch with a circuit tester and it is getting power, AND I tested the bulb, it too works... but the bulb is not lighting when inserted! Cant figure it out...any ideas?

are you grounding the assembly? that brass collar around the lower screw hole is the ground contact for the light. make sure you are getting a good ground connection when you mount to light assembly to the chassis.

I am relying on the screw that goes into that brass collar to ground on the chassis. It Seems to be screwed in but obviously not grounding for some reason. Maybe some carpet is being pulled into the screw hole as well.

Do you recall what kind of screw is used to attach the light to the floor? Is it a sheet metal screw or a machine screw? What size?
I checked the PET but I could not find it. |
