Heater control fan knob not working

Is this unit something that can be repaired. Its the 4 button heater unit, the all switches work except the fan switch, it has no pull to it, moves freely, its come unhooked from whatever its supposed to move.

Tips? How hard is this to remove from the dash to diagnose it? Can they be fixed or need they be replaced?

Thanks Pelican brains.

Its this unit, its the knob on the right that isn't pulling anything.

It douse not pull anything. It turns on the fan. Electric only, no cables to pull like the other 3.

Is there a fuse that may be blown? Wires that have come disconnected? Check the easy stuff first. But as John said, "Fans burn out all the time".

Theres no blown fuse, the blower motor is dead its being replaced when the electric ac gets here. As is the engine blower motor. But the control arm has no pull on it, its loose, is that something that could have come disconnected theres not any electronics in there really is there? Pulls a cable no? Also any idea how to pull it out to check?

its a PITA (ask me how i know) to fix..but there is a single bolt (#8?) behind the whole unit that when undone allows it to be removed..but you likley have to disconnect your diffuser control cables..if so, mark the position of the wire and the arms so you know how to replace when your done. Then you can check all your contacts and wiring

The left upper black knob works a cable for cold air, off to full. The right upper black knob just works the 3 fan speeds, no cable to pull. The bolt holding the unit to the firewall is a ground point if I remember well. Gotta be tight.
