Converting a 95 3.6 to a 914

I’ve had the engine a few years before the air cooled engines went insane. So I am getting it off the shelf to prepare the install. I have purchased the harness adapter from Patrick Motorsports. I also have their air intake conversion. Also their Pulley system. I removed the speed control unit and A/C mounts. My questions are mainly about the electrical and vacuum systems. When I purchased the Engine from LA Dismantler’s they also sent the DME and the engine harness. When I finally got around to digging them out and matching them up to the engine I see a lot of sensor connections that have no mates. My questions are some of these not needed in this application? Or am I missing something?

Pretty good idea to get a wiring diagram and start matching up color codes and labeling them.

Some of the ones you show are for the heating system.

i have a '95 3.6 in my 914, if i can be of any help on the specific connectors i'm happy to dig around.

what do you have planned for cooling that sucker? i've had some challenges keeping mine cool despite a GT style cooler up front and 2 puller fans underneath on a thermostat.

lastly, what gearbox are you using?...

Nice! I may have a flipped R&P 915 that would be perfect for that build if you are trans hunting
There are a few plugs that get zip tied up out of the way when you put a 3.6 in a non 993 car.
the ones on the dme harness, plus the conversion harness/plug is all it takes. The rest are superfluous.

I am using a 915 with the Wevo shifter. I added a LSD as well, so I think I should be set. I am running the GT oil cooler set up. From all the research I did I am surprised you are having issues keeping it cool. What Are you using for a Thermostat ?

Did you add the WEVO intermediate plate that saves the bearings on hard launches? Stock in the 930 trans....
