Updated ignition system
Can anyone help,
I have installed a CDI Ignition unit into a 1970 Porsche 911 and left the existing Bosch coil in place. Should the coil be upgraded to support the new ignition system? |

you should have a black Bosch 0221121001 and 0221121006
or optional MSD Blaster HV 8222

You should consider an MSD ignition unit since they product dual spark and can rev limit. You should also consider the Pertronix magnetic pickup as a drop in points replacement. You'll notice a significant improvement in cold starts and general smoothness.

I have:
Partsklassic coil Partsklassic digital cdi with rpm cutoff Pertronix electronic ignition. I believe a 70 should have had cdi? If not you want a coil designed for cdi. Ditch the points. |
