Black door panels look great. Bob @ Appbiz took care of you.

I think you're going to end up dyeing the rest of the interior and going with black carpet to complete the maroon to black transformation.

Car is coming together.

Your car will be undoubtedly your dream car. That is cool. Build it to fit what you want from it. Enjoy it, and drive it!
Well, they definitely got a lot less sports purpose and a bit more luxo-bargey as time went on. Also, 930 tea-tray, wheels, tires, brakes, torsion bars and anti-roll bars ain't exactly light, but there's more. Alarm, CC, heated full-power seats, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc...

Well, Gemini is my dream car. Vents is too, I suppose. Can you love more than one woman?

Both will be driven. Gemini and I are heading to SF, from SD, tomorrow. Stopping at Rebel S Racing on the way back this Friday to pick up a whole mess o' suspension goodies.

Yeah, I'm happy with them. May do a set in leather after all is said and done, but for the in between times (i.e. before paint and new headliner), they'll do the trick!

Black leather Carbon Pole Positions from Gert Carnewal are en route. If I can get the sunroof delete to fit within the budget, I'll need to redo the headliner anyway, so will go black. The entire original burgundy interior, as tired as it is, will go into storage.

I'm planning black interior, rear seat delete / AppBiz plush RS carpet kit and black & white Pasha inserts for the front seats. 😱

Suspension parts look exciting. Thanks for dropping off my tach with John Bell.
I saw that driver door panel over the weekend and it is even better in person.
Great thread!

Happy to help. Us 491 Folk need to stick together. I do believe I'm retrieving the finished product from John on Friday. Some people are drug mules, apparently, I'm a gauge mule.

So true. I thought about acquiring a 997 GT3 RS or a 991 GT3 Touring. Those would have been amazing cars to have in the garage and to drive hard once a week, but the project aspect woulda been missing. I love seeing my vision come to fruition. Then, I'll drive this car hard, scare myself at 7/10ths and not be tripling the speed limit on public roads.

I progressed the engine compartment beautification project by installing Patrick Motorsports Heater Blockoff. $140 part that I wish fit better. It's too tall in my case, so I guess I'll have the bottom machined 4-5mm for a tighter fit. I'm thinking about The $140 part cost + cost to machine it as an offering to the Porsche gods as penance. Forgive me Ferry, for I have modified.

And, of course, I added the schutzkappe. A.k.a. the cooling fan nut cover. The proverbial cherry on top of every OCD air cooled 911 owner's sundae.

Got the call that Vents is going in for paint next month, so had to make some progress on Project Underdash Wiring Cleanup (including center console delete and JWest Rennshift install) to get her drivable again...

The entire Burgundy interior, as tired / shot as it is, will be going into storage. Fixing power seat switches and conditioning the leather prior to baggin' 'em and hoisting them up into the attic...

Nice parts....pretty much my set up with but with custom smart racing dampers

what TB are your running? im thinking of 23F 31R these cars are heavier though mine is down to 2550-2650. havent weighed it lately.

my differs with Tarret RSR bars, Quick steering rack and some anti-dive dialed in.

Here's a little more of the same...

At the moment, the kitchen island is acting as a waypoint between the garage for parts boxing / bagging and the attic.

I'll be running sticky 225/50 front and 245/45 rear tires.

As such, I'm thinking 23F and 31R too. 22F could be the better call, however Clint claims you can run stiffer bars with his spherical bushings due to the lack of "spring rate" that rubber bushings add overall.

Thanks to this thread...

911 Sunroof Cancelled

...and my lifelong hatred for sunroofs, I have decided to move forward with a roof panel swap sunroof delete.

I'm looking for A) increased headroom (I'm tired of my head hitting the ceiling on bumpy roads), B) strategic weight loss (I pulled 22.5 pounds of sunroof components out of the car yesterday) and C) improved aesthetics.

Oscar at Escondido Custom Upholstery and I pulled the rear window, rear side glass and headliner out yesterday in preparation for dropping her off at Perfect Lines in North Hollywood next week.

These pictures illustrate the headroom opportunity cost associated with nasty sunroofses...

~1.6 inches from bottom of sunroof cassette to bottom of outer roof skin (i.e. the ceiling)...

Begone burgundy headliner!...

Drove 115 miles from North County San Diego to Perfect Lines Restoration in North Hollywood for the sunroof delete (roof panel replacement method)...

Vents is in good company here...

Always some tasty treats at TLG Auto next door...

Taking the Surfliner back home to North County San Diego...

So Perfect Lines, TLG, and Emory are all next to each other? That's convenient (but costly...).
