Undercutting gears in motorcycle race boxes has been done for years. Postiive engagement. Undercutting the dogs also improves engagement.
Saw a video of a guy shifting a Corvette without the clutch but pretty sure he was surreptitiously easing off the throttle a hair. There have been ignition cut systems for years on motorcycles as well as air shifters for the drag racers. Longevity was questionable and I never bought into it for the street. Hot rod motorcycles vanished along with my youth. ![]()

On the Cayman, I breath the throttle on the up shift and half clutch it on the down. If I want to blip the throttle, I full clutch.
