Speed Sensor Magic?

1986 911 3.2 got it back from a rebuild and it was sweet. Less than 780 miles and another trip to Porsche shop went to start and cranks like a demon. No start. Same old sad story, on loop... Well after testing all the culprits, it shows the Speed Sensor has failed - ohms out of spec wildly - oh well. What one man can do another can do, right. Well it appears not this man. Reference sensor came out in an hour and a half. Speed sensor took over 2.5 hours to get it to move (partial rotation). Another 2 hours plus of partial rotation gets 45 degrees of partial movement. Lube with a variety of products, repeat. 12 hours later it clocks 360 degrees tightly. Think barely turn with one hand and lots of force. No release or vertical movement attained. I have pried from every conceivable angle, but the tolerance is still so tight nothing can get between sensor housing and cast aluminum base plate. I do not want to remove the housing plate and have to reference sensor stand off. All suggestions/ideas appreciated, please.
I have used the search function and looked at everything I could find so please point me to a solution. Thanks all!

Honestly, your only option is to remove the plate and the sensors. I was apprehensive when I first did the same job, and believe me it's a lot easier (I went through the same process you did). The speed sensor on my '87 basically fused itself to the holder due to gunk and oil and heat - I had to tap it out with a hammer and punch.

I can send you my old sensor which I bonded a 0.8mm washer to the end for the gap. Send me a PM and I can walk you through it. It's a lot easier than you think.

I spent 3 days getting the lower sensor out of the bracket!
What concerned me was the bolts holding the sensor bracket being seized , if you twist one of those bolts off, i think the engine would have to come out.

"Ok here we go" thank you for the kindness of your offer. I will hit you sith a pm for more info. "wds1429" I am hopeful that your experience will be a horror story with a successful ending. How did you finally get the SS out? All encouragement appreciated!
The car just had a full engine out rebuild, clutch and pressure plate and all niceties replaced so engine and trans were separated. Why they didn't replace the sensors then is beyond me...
