Same...mine is a 88 Cab and I have the two add'l condensers in the wheel well and they are great. I've driven in over 100 degrees in Texas without a problem and quite comfortable.

Charlie replaced my faulty thermostat roughly 5 years after I installed it and wouldn’t take my money. His customer service and product support post sale is peerless.

I did an install last May in my 86 Targa. Ended up putting in:

- New hoses
- New receiver/dryer
- New evaporator
- New/upgraded condenser in front
- New thermostat
- Variable speed fan controller
- Rebuilt compressor
- Compressor "working" light in between the dials

I kept the original deck lid condenser, but flushed it out several times and straightened the bent fins before reinstalling it. I'd taken the engine out for an oil leak, and the a/c hadn't worked since I bought the car in 2019, so it seemed like a good time to tackle it. The instructions were straight-forward (came with a binder covering everything), and took the better part of two days over two weekends...but I took the time to clean up other stuff while I was doing it, and have a lift and the engine was out, so access wasn't an issue.

I debated getting the wheel-well condenser, but didn't in the end, and am happy without it. Wasn't expecting new-car performance to begin with, and it's a Targa in Atlanta, but it does a really decent job as-is. I've measured 40F at the vents when the outside temp was in the low 90's. I did take it to a local Porsche shop that has done a number of the Griffin system installs and burned an hour of shop time to have them take a look to make sure I hadn't obviously screwed anything up and vacuum/charge it. As others have noted, it blows cold within a few minutes, and I have to turn it down after a few more or it's too cold.

The only thing I might not do again is install the "compressor on/off" light between the knobs. It's not an issue during the day, but at night it's right at the edge of my vision, and attracts my attention a little when it cycles from green to amber.

The only issue I had was turning the nut on the variable speed fan switch a bit too much when installing it, breaking the shaft. Totally my fault. Charlie shipped a replacement to me and wouldn't take my money, even when I pressed him to. Class act.

I am in SE Alabama. I went with both wheel well condensers. No matter how hot and humid it is outside, I see 32-34 degree vent temps. If your vent temps go up as the summer wears on, adding one or two of Charlie's add'l condensers with the integrated electric fans should do the trick. My car and engine oil temp stays cool even in stop and go traffic with outside temp in the high 90s.

I have a 930, with just the half-bay condenser over the engine, so I went with all-new everything, including the dual fender condensers.

As they say, when you buy quality, you only cry once. I've been very, very happy with the mac-daddy Griffiths kit.

One of the things I like the most about installing the kit was looking at the quality of the parts. I kept saying to myself, that is so clever and well made. No cheap looking crappy stuff at all.

I have a lot of money invested in the cold air, and I love it all summer. I don't regret one penny I spent on it. I have said it many times, it is the BEST improvement and project I have ever done to my 911, and after 26 years of ownership and driving, my car is just what I want it to be.
