Question re: Engine center Mount Yoke.

I have purchased two mounts that are supposed to be for a 2.7 yet they do not lineup with my 74 2.7 case studs yet they do line up with my 2.0 liter case studs. I am trying to determine if I have a weird engine or I just keep buying early mounts that the sellers have mistaken for the later mounts.
Thanks - Chris

I haven't heard/noticed that Porsche changed the 911 mounts, at least through the end of the 3.2s, as far as the bolt pattern goes. They just don't do stuff like that (VW Beetle transmissions will bolt up to 911 cases). I've used the same mounts for sand cast 2.0 cases, 2.7 cases, and 3.0 cases.

One possibility is that your 2.7 has had the case machined to narrow it a bit, and was then line bored back to standard, which would move the mounts closer together horizontally. But this narrowing isn't very big, and I've not seen it mentioned as being a problem - and lots of mag cases have had this done to them so standard OD bearings can be used (oversized ones are rather pricey) .

Perhaps you could just clearance the tight sides of all the mount holes?
