Tips on testing the clock?

My clock doesn't work. I've busted out the multimeter and I have 10.5v coming from the harness. I'd like to test the clock on a battery. Any tips on how? I could grab any 12v battery, but I'm worried about overvolting if the clock is actually good.

When bench testing I use either an old PC power supply or my Milwaukee M12 batteries.

Thanks, Dmitry. I'd seen the "How-to" article, but it's frankly not very helpful. Lots of flowery language and discussion of buying his wife earrings (?) and maybe some waxing about his experience fixing a clock, but not testing the clock at all. If I'm not mistaken, it also is discussing a mechanical clock assembly, not the quartz "movements" in the later G-bodies. I should have been more specific in my post, admittedly.

I'll check out the other threads. Didn't see them when I searched.

PC power supply; that's interesting. I might have a spare and if not its easy to get one. Do you just look for pins with appropriate voltage?

Checking you clock

On a 911 1970.

You can remove your clock
Clock is made for 12v

Earth body on - pole of the battery and set Plus pole to where your voltage cable should go.

If you use a testprobe (or similar) as below, you can pulse 12v on the clock.

just pull the 12v from car battery, its only going to draw the current it needs..

12 volts is 12 volts. As others have said, no worry about connecting the clock directly to the car battery or any other 12v DC source. Watch your polarity, though.
