Hey D@vid,

I sort of ran over Tom's answer but he says you need additional spacers to make adjustables fit early cars. As you know the original spring plate was non-adjustable, so perhaps the extra thickness in the second adjustable plate needs to be accounted for.

Good luck

It's been a while, for me, but I recall that I needed 4-5 mm spacers to make the adjustables fit an early (this is a 1973?) car. Cylinder head washers did the trick, as I recall. All from distant memory, so don't pile on if I got wrong. All this to compensate for the greater thickness of the adjustable spring plates, compared with the originals.

I wonder if anyone who's installed the exact same product can chime in and offer some insight.

My experience was with factory adjustable spring plates and original bushes. Once on a 71 and once once on a 73. The three mounting bosses protruding from the frame are shorter on the early cars than on later ones that came with adjustable spring plates new. The spacer that goes on the fourth mount was also shorter. The bolts are longer or shorter, according to the parts book: M10x28 in the early cars, M 10x30 in the later cars. I quickly measured an old cylinder head washer from my hardware box, like the ones I used as spacers, and it's around 3 mm thick. The Dansk spring plates look really nice. I'd like to hear how well they work.

If they came pre-assembled I would for sure give the supplier a call, or go right to Dansk.

Good point! That could well be the case. I think I’ll replace them with the original springplates. Had them powdercoated already

I assumed that they were interchangeble but perhaps this may not be the case at all. Should have thought of that before I ordered them off course
