Door panel speaker delete options

I love music, but....

The 911 engine is the music. In the 10 years since I've had my most recent 911, I've never turned the radio on.

Ever.

Time to ditch the door speakers.
I've done a search on pp for speaker deletes, and have seen the pp radio delete insert, but I really want a door speaker delete cover to close the round speaker hole and keep the cold air from flowing in.

Removing the door speakers should keep me relevant with the corvette C8? right?

Options?

tia, ron.

Sounds like an easy 3D printer project.
Know anyone that has one? Share your ideas for one with them.
Maybe just a blanking plate you could cover with upholstery?

Some of the new replacement panels come upholstered over the speaker and you cut it out if you want to or leave it covered.

I've wrestled with this, too. Easy to put some kind of plate behind the now empty hole in the upholstery, but it leaves a ragged edge. This on my track/race only car, where interior aesthetics are kind of questionable anyway, so it is way down the to do list. I mainly want to cover it so nothing can fall into the hole.

I bought a brand new set of door panels with PVC backing on eBay. $250 for both door panels. They are very nice, look original, and are good quality. They did not come with any cutouts on the vinyl (this is something I had to do with the help of an upholstery shop). Here is the link to the ones I bought:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/192982456369?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

Comparison of old vs new (after I made cutouts for window switches, lock, speaker, and mounting bolts)

Easiest way is to install a barrier behind the speaker grills. You cut the weight and seal out the wind.

Thanks all for the responses. I've got the door apart for a door lever issue, but will addressing the speakers shortly.

At the moment, I'm thinking adhesive based plastic over the holes for cold air, and then reinstalling the speaker covers for something more presentable until I can get uniform panels with no cutout.

.. Which will probably be 86' 911's link! Thanks!

Sounds good. I thought I would share the finished product after I got them on the doors if you go this route. The fit was excellent. However a couple of minor issues:

1.I bought the OEM clips to attach the door skins but had to take some diagonal wire cutters to cut and reduce the diameter of the clip to fit into the the PVC backing. It was a simple solution. You'll see how to do it if you purchase new clips for the door skins. They just didn't bore a big enough hole into the PVC backing to accommodate a stock clip.

2. The holes around the window switches lack support. The switches are sitting in there fairly loosely and one looks kind of lopsided (zoom in on the photo). I'm thinking about fabricating a clip to secure the switches but it's not a top priority right now. Just bugs me to look at.

Otherwise, it is a very nice panel with an excellent fit. For the price, I'm happy and it dresses the interior up a lot.
