Targa Top eliminating wind noise
My Targa top generates a lot of noise when driving on motorways.
As it is way to high ...See picture below Seems to be a problem of plate positions as explained in below "Discseven" post Targa Top Rebuild  Does anybody know how to adjust these plates without dissassembly of the roof? DiscSeven talks about hammering the lips down. Targa Top Rebuild But does not tell where to use the hammer.....

It looks as if your top is too far forward, you probably need to adjust your locating pins so that the top can seat properly fore and aft.

Purpose being to get the leading edge of the roof even with the windshield frame. To be specific, the process is a very light tapping along the roof's leading edge. The plates are relatively thin aluminum so it doesn't take much to move this material. Bush is right, metal plates (at center of roof) in top photo were too far forward. And when I took that roof apart, it was the original factory assembly. Assuming the factory fit of the roof was right on and the shape of one 911 Targa to the next was the same out of the factory, this begs the question... did the shape of my 911 change over the years? (I think this is possible as I cannot get the front windshield to seal correctly---the windshield frame is now too wide. That's off topic but might be others experiencing the same.) Metal plates inside our roofs are fixed in place by webbing that runs across both the front and rear edges of the roof. On each side of the roof, the metal plates are riveted to the frame-structure of the roof. What "floats" are the 3 center metal plates. There's a little bit of flexibility in this system but NO adjustment (without taking the roof apart.) You can see every part of a Targa roof by going through my "rebuild" thread.  New Webbing installed. Is same config as factory. Have put on car to make sure positioning of plates is accurate. Wind noise you speak of is a bane of Targa ownership when roof issues exist. It's what drove me to rebuild my roof. Prior to diving into that rebuild, I ran tape across the roof and windshield frame when driving the highway. Works to quiet the noise but is obviously not ideal. Another wind-noise factor is the forward seal between the roof and windshield frame. Those seals breakdown and eventually don't seal. (And new ones are challenging to fit correctly.)

Take your top off and make sure the front clips are engaging with the frame, they tend to wear down, There is some adjustment if you loosen the screws on the clips. Longer clips are available somewhere.

I found followng article and believe this could be the cause as my Seal was renewed during recent restoration.

wrong seal pushing roof up ? need a backdated seal or cut the current one

You top is too high. As noted above, has your seal been replaced?

Checked RStarga remarks and indeed the front clips where NOT engaging with the frame Longer clips are available you say? There is no way you can check this when the roof is in place. Despite thqt I seem to have some sort of fit at the back. but front seems to have a hump before going to the front edge... Is that normal? If not what is the cause?

I bought some longer clips from Ecklers back in 2014 but they don't seem to carry them any longer. The part number was P902684
