Power bleeder help

Just finished putting new pads on the back and started/tried to install stainless steel lines. Gave up on the lines (just couldn't get the lines to break free).

Anyway, I am using the power bleeder system to bleed the brakes and then plan to use the pedal method. What is the proper way to remove the PB once I'm done. I'm guessing that I should release the pressure from the PB top and not the MC connect. When I do, some of the fluid from the MC is pulled back into the PB. Is this normal or did I do something incorrect?

Normal

Just top off the MC when you are done.
