MSD too 123 dizzy

On the back of the MSD Box it says connect the white wire too the yellow 😳 I seem to have every colour other than yellow, how do I connect the MSD too the123 dizzy and what wires do I still keep

Does this help? It is for a Bosch 6 pin CDI and the SC Bluetooth 123 distributor, but you should be able to figure it out for the MSD based on the wire designations if that is what you have.
Can’t tell from the picture, on what you have, not a lot of information in your post.

If you have a 123 dizzy for the 6 pin CDI , it will only work with that 6 pin CDI system.
If you have the 123 dizzy for the 3 pin, that one will work with the MSD box , and 3pin CDI, or coil only.

Just wired up an MSD Streetfire to replace a 6 pin Bosch unit to a 123 distributor made for the 3.0 SC with6 pin CDI.
So your first statement above is in need of clarity as it could be read as one cannot use an MSD on the 6 pin CDI model of 123.
You need to use the appropriate CDI signal input and wiring designations for each type of 123 distributor when using an MSD CDI would be a better statement.

The OP is not being clear about what he has or is using.

I have an approx. 5years old 123 dizzy with a "Big Fat Spark" ignition booster module on my SC. I replaced a 6pin CDI box and the old dizzy. The BFS is an transistor operated ignition booster with an own tachometer output working perfectly together with the 123.

It's almost plug'n'play compared to the original Porsche CDI diagram...OK, it's not exactly the same than a CDI box, but it works pretty well. With the tune version I have, I can use two separate ignition advance curves choosable by switch. one for "Super" (95ROZ / 90AON) fuel here, the other for higher octaned fuels like "Super Plus" (98ROZ/93AON) or even higher "Ultimate 102" (102ROZ/95AON)...needs to be tested on a dyno to be sure that you won't damage your engine...

I am using a 123 dizzy for SC that was running with 6 pin CDI. CDI failed so switching to MSD 6AL. Tried connecting to the Mag input of MSD from 123 SC Dizzy but seems to be out of phase timing way off. Do I need to used the white wire input of the MSD? Can you share how you connected the 123 SC Dizzy to the MSD?

Another option is to drop the CDI/MSD box and run straight from the 123 to a coil. You'll need a coil with 1-3 ohms primary resistance and several K Ohms secondary (most of them are around 8K Ohms). Most of the MSD coils meet these numbers. One less thing to go wrong.

Wired as above photo using MSD purple and green wires to the brown and green of the 123.
Did you put the MSD into 6 cylinder mode by cutting one of the small blue or red wires?

Yes, MSD blue wire cut to put in 6 cyl mode.

MSD wiring:
Blue wire loop cut - to put in 6 cyl mode
Red wire loop uncut - for 6 cyl mode
White wire was removed from the harness.
Heavy RED to Battery
Heavy BLACK to chassis ground behind relay panel
Small red to ignition on at relay panel
MSD Gray to vehicle blk/violet for tach (this has been tested and works)
MSD Purple to 123 Brown
MSD green to 123 Green

Nothing, no spark.
Will check with a scope to see if there is a signal on the brown wire relative to purple.
I'm concerned that in this 123 SC dizzy the brown wire is tied internally to gnd so no signal.
Awaiting response from 123igntion support to verify.

When I connect
MSD violet to 123 green
MSD green to 123 brown
I get a spark however the timing is way off.
When this happens with a bosch SC dizzy tied to MSD we swap the violet and purple and it works fine to MSD. Doesn't seem to be the case with 123 SC dizzy.....

Anyone else have similar experience or have it working?
