Permanent live too my MSD

Can I take the permanent live to my MSD from “fuse box 3 in the engine bay” or will this put too much load on the fuse

I have mine before the fuse with an inline fuse to protect the MSD unit. If you put it after the fuse you may have to change the fuse to a higher amperage but that’s probably not advisable.

I ran mine like that for years without issue, although many will tell you to run a line off the starter.

What I like to do for power in the engine bay , is run a 10ga from the starter battery cable to the engine bay. At that point I can run a relay for ignition hot or just constant hot . Fuse as needed .

Why do you want it hot at all times? I ran mine through a relay thats switched on with ignition.

The MSD wants the primary + to be hot all the time , then the internal MSD switch activates with the key to make the system hot .
