Wow!! I really like that 63 red car in the pics ![]() It was good to meet you and your wife. We had the last run at 4:30, and it was the best. I was red-lining in 4th coming out of NASCAR #4 (our #9), almost at 130. I was really relying on the brakes going from that speed to the tire chicane. My instructor has a "full race" BMW M3. We went out in that for the session prior to my last. We were bunched up with a tricked out 964 and the bright green Ferrari 348, which was pretty tricked out. He could drive that thing. What he lacked in HP, he made up for in the turns. What a great day! (except for my new found oil leak ![]() BTW- It was raining the first 2 sessions. My new S-03's really stuck! They are great wet or dry. With the lousy Yuckahamas in the front, I actually had understeer in the wet. Go figure. The front is getting S-03's soon.

Another interesting note today...
There was a Cayenne S out for one of the DE sessions. It was pretty impressive to see that thing negotiate the track. It wasn't struggling. Kind of hard to imagine this in an SUV.

Sorry guys I miss you today.. family commitments, I was there Saturday morning for a couple of hours with Ed..
You see Ed, I told you... 130mph on that turn was the 'correct' speed! Congratulations on having two days full of Porsche, high-speed driving and fun .. I may go tomorrow (weather permiting) with the family to show them the place.. really awsome racing complex.

Mark W? I've NEVER driven on banking in my life! Are you sure you want to move to the NW? Damn, that looks like fun...

![]() ![]() Just so everyone can have some appreciation for how big this place is, here's a shot I took on the flight in. (w/ lots of zoom) It's huge. . .you can just make out the infield road course portion. . .if you see an off-colored pixel, that might be a car. ![]() PWD make a good point. . . Mark, you'll be leaving lots of nice stuff behind. I hope you like "quaint" . . .thats what you'll be getting up here in the Pacific NothWet. ![]() Anyway, one more of Marks' 911SC, as he was pulling out. (Why is it that this 911 is soo photogenic? Maybe because it's doesn't have moss growing in the seams? ) ![]()

And some of his Fuchs used to roll on Black Beauty, I'm pretty sure.
That looks like a great facility and a great group of cars. The California Porsche crowd should make a road trip to Texas some time.

Wow, great pictures Glen. I love that one with the cars on the high bank in the back. That's a new wallpaper for for me!!!! It was really nice to meet you and the lovely Dr. Rebecca. Two Docs in one family!
Ed, great to see one of the local gang out there tearing it up. You looked great out there. Paul, I only wish I'd gotten on the track. Maybe another time. I need a John Walker tranny rebuild first. And yes, parts of Black Beauty1 live on with the Duck. The front 16x7's graced BB1 for a while and the Flowmaster on her sat beneath BB1's rear valence for a time. It's like a tranplant of sorts. Maybe that that is why she photographs so well. If you get tired of that old 3.6.... well, you know where I am.... |

WOW ! Good pictures !
I just got in from TWS myself.I got to take a ride in the Cayanne on the track on the Parade Lap and was impressed. This was the Cayanne S not the Turbo. It had a fairly easy time with about a 1:54, which isn't bad considering it was a bit wet due to the rain we had earlier that morning. I also spotted a SCWDP enclosed car trailer at TWS. This was a white single car enclosed trailer. It had a nice large SCWDP sign in Silver on both sides.I think it had No Bad Days Racing on the side and was from California, I spoke to the currant owner who does not own a SC by the way !!!! He said he bought it from a guy in California. |

Jack, I would love to have you guys out- was talking with my brother about it a few months back (he's the webmaster of the R Gruppe site, Gary). I haven't gotten on track out here yet, so I'm still missing the PNW tracks (especially with the Seattle & Portland Historics coming up...)
There are some great roads out here, lots of track days, and this little event: Big Bend Open Road Race Its a long drive, but we early 911 guys need some company out here. Agree, Early S Man & Silver C4S? For the Texas crowd, any of you guys going to this weekend's Driver's Edge DE, or the following weekend's Long State DE? I missed the Hill Country DE a couple weeks back because of a last minute business trip (despite having paid for it, grrrr...), but I would like to meet you guys-

Most of the Austin Track junkies are pretty beat up... events the last two weekends at Motorsport Ranch and Texas Motor Speedway.I haven't heard of anyone planning on TWS in two weeks but I am sure that there will be a few show up.The Houston bunch are a lot of fun and they have a really good showing, it's always fun.

I looked for you guys yesterday when I was out there with my son. What days did you run the DE, Ed? So I take it driving on the high banking was too cool? I really wish I had thought to get there for the noon charity runs yesterday just to drive the oval!
Cheers, Brad '83 SC Coupe |

Al: The red was a custom color from Porsche, I had it repainted to match the original.
Brad: I was out Saturday and Sunday. It was pretty awesome! The first lap it takes some getting used to, but basically, you're pedal to the medal going thru the gears around the curves.
