Middle of Alternator Replace...two ?s

Okay, seems pretty straight forward, however.........

As I was getting in to the project I noticed a wire disconnected from this part. Could this have something to do w/the alt. not working? Anyone know what the part is? It is located below and right of the fan housing.

Second ? is that in the tech article, it does not seem to mention this alt. cover? Anyone else have this? Is it a simple unbolt and remove, well not simple b/c the nuts are inaccessible....

I think you're looking at the oil pressure and/or oil temp senders....not directly related to the alternator's function.

Maybe this helps?

Thank you Wil, heading back to the garage now....it is never as easy as it seems is it? Anything w/flexible, patience and small hands are a plus worries me.

Jeff, I found that when iwas doing my alternator, it might be easier to get at the thing if you remover the heating air duct...

...I wanted to R&R the CIS, so I ended dropping the motor! E-mail me if you need pictures and long winded instructions.

I just got it out....not a bad as I thought. The new one is on the way, hopefully this will take care of my ignition problems.
