Anyone running XDI ignition?

Backtracking someone else's work and want to make sure the settings are somewhat correct. Can someone compare their settings? Car is a 2.7, RS pistons, E cams with PMO carbs. Thanks!

XDi Settings

For my modified 3.2L with PMO carbs with XDi I use:

10-15° initial and ~20° at 3k RPM for total advance of ~35°. I find more advance at initial really helps with off-idle acceleration.

My engine info can be found here: Gordo's PMO Carb Tuning

Good luck.

The one piece of advice I would give anyone running this system is to check initial timing, and timing advance, with a timing light. There is the potential for enough variation in the physical location of the pickup sensor to dramatically alter the timing. On my motor, for example, with the idle or low RPM dashpot dialed down to "zero", I still have 12 degrees of initial advance.

I run that low RPM dashpot at zero, so I'm idling it at 12 degrees advance. I set the mid range dashpot to 14, for a total of 26 degrees. I leave the high RPM setting at zero, so no high RPM advance or retard. So, essentially, I have a very simple "idle" and "running" advance "curve", which really isn't a "curve" at all. This is on a twin plugged, 11:1 compression 3.0 liter that never "runs" at less than about 3,000 RPM anyway.

XDi timing........

I have a 3.3SS engine in my SC. It is running 11:1 compression, 964 cams and modified CIS injection. I have the initial timing set at 10 degrees (by timing light) with the 3K dial set at 20. Like Jeff, the third dial is left at 0. With this setting the engine starts easily, idles well and will pull hard up to 7500 where I have the ignition cutout set. It runs quite well on 91 or 93 octane pump gas. I have the control box mounted in the interior behind the passenger seat to keep it away from weather and engine heat. It has been set like this since 2013 when I built the engine. This is a twin plug setup running large port Carrera heads.

Thanks all! Played with the timing a little and moved the initial to 10deg. I checked with a timing light and it is a little past the right line of Z1 at idle. When I rev it up to 4k its almost at the next notch at the pulley. Seems to be running a lot smoother now.
