85 MPH Speedometer Identification Request - Porche ? VW ?

Hi Everyone, Looks like a great website. I just joined to assist my search to identify what looks to be an award given to someone for what I might guess was a win at some race track or other venue. I searched for "lucky Guess Award" with no luck, and also 1989 Fall Tour, no luck there. I was hoping that some of the knowledgeable people might recognize this speedometer or this award. It's a solid block of wood that has an embedded speedometer in it and it appears that it is not meant to be removed without possible damaging something. I read about the 1979 mandate to not have speedometers go past 85 and it lasted a few years until it was revoked in 81 or 82. I've read that porche actually had these installed in some cars. And maybe a scirocco or a rabbit or a gulf VW. Maybe what looks like to be "ge" signature is the winner of the race ? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. All I have for info on this is from the person I got it from that said he thought it was from a VW or a Porche. If I can't find any info then I will have to remove it and see if there is a logo or numbers on the back. thx in advance !
