MFI, One word answer needed - (maybe two).

The three fuel line connections on a MFI fuel pump with "S", "R", and "D".
What does the "D" stand for? S = send. R = return. correct?
I knew this 25 years ago...

Thanks.

Delivery.

"S" sends from tank to pump.
"R" returns from pump to tank, along with receiving the return from the filter console.
"D" delivers to the filter console.

Perfect. A friend has a 912 with 911 engine and a mix match of parts, now trying to get this pump to work "better" the the old one. The added explination was a needed bonus.
Thanks for the quick response.

Wow, what are the chances? My youngest son has a '68 912. We spent his senior year in high school converting it to a 911, using the MFI inducted 2.4 out of my '72. And talk about a "mix and match of parts" - on top of that, it has the Bilstein struts and shocks, along with the stock torsion bars that we removed from his big brother's '79 SC when we upgraded the suspension on that. Lots of other parts came off of both my '72 and his brother's '79 along the way to get it finished. Total "little brother" car, with "hand me down" parts all over it. That was over 15 years ago, and he still drives it today.

Wow! The car looks amazing like all original and period correct. My friends is "really" mix-match. '76 912 tub, turbo flares, slop nose (now back to oem fenders, turbo tail but now duck tail and a '71 T engine. It still has a long way to go. Thanks for chiming in.
