Potential Oil Pressure Loss with Carrera Chain Tensioner Upgrade ?

All

My 77 911S is making some engine rattling noise on ordinary acceleration, thinking it may be time to check the timing chain and likely get the hydraulic tensioner upgrade kit. Is there any concern about oil pressure loss on a stock 2.7 engine ? I'm asking because I've seen a few posts regarding oil pressure, just wondering if this applies to my engine.

So while I'm in there thought it also best to change the chain ramps and upgrade the idler arms, do I need the shaft spacer if using the later idler arms ?

Thanks
Tony

It's an upgrade cam oil line fitting that keeps more oil in the sump pan, prevents low oil pressure from oil aeration. I believe you'll need spacers for this upgrade also 930-105-513-00

Late idler arms are wider and don't use spacers. It's not like the carrera tensioners spray oil out sufficiently to cause a pressure drop. If your engine puts out 60# pressure, you won't notice any difference. The cam fittings with a smaller bore can raise system pressure, but less is going to the cam and rockers. Your call.

But what's the "rattling" noise? Bad tensioner noise is going to most prevalent
at idle.

Gosh, hope its not a broken head stud. Similar noise. Did u listen with a stethoscope to isolate the rattle at idle? Last time the valve covers removed, v adjustment, or any top end rebuild?
