Securing down floor mats for 930

Hi folks,

I can’t seem to make any forward progress on finding the correct part to secure some floor mats down on my 86’ 930. I am unable to verify which manufacture it is but I have contacted both Lloyds and Pelican, sent them pics but everyone is stumped.

Pics of the floor mat’s underside shows a buckle type connection.

Modification by the previous owner? The mats that came with mine were bunched up really bad, a safety hazard, really. I ended up taking mine out. A clip at the back, like you show, and a clip at the front could have helped hold things in place.

Worst case, you could buy a clip set and some strap/webbing and sew on some new ones.

The mats themselves don’t look to be modified, I’d like to avoid modifying them if at all possible and just find the pieces that the buckle would connect to.

My '87 floormats have that buckle. Hooks up to a matching one under the seat.

I had a set of floor mats that had a clip like that on the mat, and a clip insert with webbing binder clipped to a little flap under the driver's seat. They were from Lloyd's.

Are your mats factory? You mind taking a pic of the mat (underside) and one under the seat?

Lloyd’s sold a kit with clips and straps that used the clip on the mat shown to affix to the seat rails. I sold a kit to a fellow pelican awhile ago and will try to find and post pix so you can at least know what to search for. You may also be able to buy strap and clips to fit your mat at camping store then make a similar clip for seat rail.

Ah thanks but those Lloyd buckles don’t look like it would work with the buckles that are on my floor mats.

I used Black button snaps for the carpet including the tunnel/shifter link box. easier to do service that way.

I think that would turn out very clean if I’m unable to find the parts I’m looking for. Thanks for the idea.

My Turbo mats have a hump on the rear side that hold them in place

My mats have those plastic clips, too. They connect to straps that run under the seat and hook onto the seat rails.

Driver's seat side, floormats in the footwell, as I'm sure you know...

Then the straps run under the seat to these little metal clips which hook onto the seat rails (as seen from the back seat)...

^^^
I have the same system in mine. The mats slew around sideways when I get out of the car. I ran the strap down the center of the square channel to minimize lateral movement and attached the hook in the same place. It didn't help much. The mats only seem to be designed to stay in place in case of a frontal collision.
Does anyone have floor mats that stay in place?

BTW the clips on my mats don't match the clips on the end of the strap, so I connected them with heavy duty zip ties.

My '84 Carrera had Lloyd's floor mats in it when I purchased it this past August. The straps look like they could be the same ones you have. Sounds like Lloyd's are now using a strap with a redesigned buckle? Unfortunately, I have no idea how old these are.
