MFI engine shroud changes...dates?
Early carbed engines wore symmetrical fiberglass shrouds that treated #6 poorly. My understanding is that in 69 the shrouds were still symmetrical...no additional air ducting riveted to the fiberglass adding airflow to both #6 and the oil cooler for the Weber carbed Ts, but also the Es and Ss. But in the 70 model year, in addition to other changes, Porsche added the raised ducting to move more air to #6 and the oil cooler. This continued over subsequent years as displacement and power increased. Can someone confirm for me when this change occurred?

Hi Lars
A while ago I complied a pictorial showing the various engine shrouds through the years. I can't promise it is 100% accurate but it is pretty close. It shows that the change adding the cooler duct was made in the transition from the 2.0 to 2.2 engines in the 1970 MY. ![]()
