Can I use the fog light hole for a tow hook mount?

Can I use the fog light mounting hole in my front bumper to mount a light duty tow hook?

Seems like the easiest way to do this. I wouldn't use it for anything other than remedying off-track excursions.

I am asking because I am not sure if you pull on the front bumper whether the bumper will come off or not.

I am taking this approach because it's very easy to make a part to bolt on here and doesn't require any valance modifications.

There are factory tow hooks under the car in the front. At least it on my SC, don't know what year your car is but check under the front.

Yup they are there but you damage the valance using those. Especially when it's a wrecker coming out to pull you out of the weeds. Also my car is lowered 1 1/2" and has the chin spoiler so any off-track excursion will have the spoiler sitting in the grass. The best thing to have is a spot to hook to that gives a straight shot to the pulling vehicle without any bodywork in the way.

Sorry, I should have mentioned up front that I do not want to rely on the OEM hooks.

Could you tow it from behind to get it out of the weeds? There a plug on the rear bumper that you must remove to insert the factory tow hook for the back.

Haven't looked at the rear yet. I want want front and rear. Thanks. That will certainly make the rear easier if it's there.

Anybody have any thoughts as to whether the front bumper will come off if pulled on in this application?
