CIS Return Lines?

I’m installing an 83 3.0 in a 79 SC and it looks like the return lines have conflicting connections. Can someone confirm that these are indeed the return lines and if so is there a part missing or do I need to replace the line from the engine? Hoping not to go the simple route of cutting the fittings and connecting the lines.
Thanks - Chris

My 79 CIS had the male cone with nut on the engine side, which screwed on to the female cone chassis side return line. I do believe this configuration changed over the years, so you will likely need some adapter. I can't speak to the 83 CIS, but your 79 should have 3 lines that go through a metal retaining bracket on the driver front of the engine bay. 1 is fuel in, 1 is fuel return, and the big one is the brake booster vacuum line. The fuel in, should terminate in a J bend fitting that goes to the top of the accumulator.

I went an checked (and edited my above post). On my 79, the return to tank is a FEMALE cone (M14) fitting.

na2ub-

Actually this is a M14 Male cone.

Male fittings have external threads while Female fittings have internal threads.

Also, I sent a email reply to Stophos.
